A judge on Wednesday granted a protective order placing Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika, and their two children under custody, citing the immediate threat posed by accused gunman Tyler Robinson. The order strictly prohibits Robinson from any contact with Erika Kirk, including harassment, threats, stalking, or any behavior that could reasonably cause fear of bodily harm, according to court documents reported by the Western Journal.
Robinson, 22, remains in Utah County Jail without bail and is barred from contacting Erika through phone, email, text, social media, or mail. Protective orders are standard in severe violence cases, but in this instance, the measures carry added significance following Kirk’s assassination.
Despite the tragedy, Erika Kirk has stepped into the public eye, calling on her late husband’s supporters to continue his mission of civil debate. On Friday, she delivered her first public remarks since September 10, emphasizing the resilience of Kirk’s legacy. “If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you have just unleashed across this country and the world,” she said, describing the determination she feels as a widow.
Erika confirmed that the American Comeback Tour will continue as planned. “Our campus tour this fall will go on, and there will be even more tours in the years to come,” she stated, reaffirming her commitment to preserving Kirk’s work and inspiring supporters nationwide. The protective order ensures safety for Erika and her children while Robinson faces legal proceedings, highlighting the ongoing seriousness of the case.
