Ex-Russian Leader Issues Chilling Warning as General Declares WW III Is Underway

In a stunning escalation of global tensions, a former high-ranking Russian leader has issued a dire warning, echoing sentiments from a top military general who claimed that World War III has already begun—just not in the way we expected.

Dmitry Medvedev, former President of Russia and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, delivered a chilling message via Russian state media. In his words, “The world is no longer on the brink—it has stepped over the edge.” He went on to describe the current geopolitical landscape as “a slow-moving global war,” one that is being fought through proxy battles, economic warfare, and cyberattacks.

The warning came just hours after General Anatoly Khrulev, a retired Russian military commander, declared on national television:

“World War III is not coming. It’s already here. But it looks nothing like the wars our grandfathers fought.”

What’s fueling the fear?

Experts say there are two major reasons this message is hitting global headlines:

1. The Silent Frontlines Are Growing
From Ukraine to the South China Sea, and even cyberspace, conflicts are emerging that involve the world’s most powerful nations—either directly or through allies. Sanctions, sabotage, and disinformation campaigns have replaced traditional military assaults in many cases.

2. Global Alliances Are Fracturing
What worries analysts most is how alliances like NATO and BRICS are becoming more hardened—and more willing to test each other. With U.S. relations with China and Russia at historic lows, the fear is that one wrong move could spark a sudden chain reaction.

Medvedev’s remarks are seen as more than just rhetoric. They reflect a growing belief within Kremlin circles that global conflict is already shaping the next era—and the average citizen has no idea how close we may be to a true global collapse.

For now, world leaders are urging caution, diplomacy, and restraint. But with warnings like these, many wonder: are we already too late?
