Far-Left Dem Hakeem Jeffries Freaks Out and Demands Pete Hegseth “Should Be Fired Immediately,” But Hegseth Demolished the Story

Following a purported scandal involving The Atlantic journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, who was reportedly included in a Signal group chat, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries reacted vehemently. He demanded, in a letter addressed to President Donald Trump and published on March 25, that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth be compelled to resign.

For context, Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, claimed he was added to a Signal group chat where high-ranking officials from the Trump Administration, including Secretary of Defense Hegseth and Vice President JD Vance, were allegedly discussing ‘war plans.’ However, he did not disclose the specifics of these purported plans. Despite Hegseth’s denial of such discussions, Rep. Jeffries seized the opportunity to call for Trump’s dismissal of Hegseth.

In his letter to President Trump, which was made public on Tuesday, March 25, the House Minority Leader expressed his outrage. The progressive Democrat insisted that the president should terminate Hegseth’s position for allegedly breaching the law and endangering Americans, claims that lack substantiation.

In the opening of the letter, Jeffries asserted that Hegseth’s mere existence at the Pentagon poses a risk to Americans, stating, ‘Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in American history. His ongoing role in a leadership position at the Pentagon jeopardizes the nation’s security and endangers our courageous men and women in uniform around the globe.’

In conclusion, Jeffries reiterated his assertion that Hegseth had endangered lives, accused him of legal violations, and insisted on his dismissal. He stated, “His actions are shocking to the conscience, jeopardized American lives, and likely breached the law. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth should be terminated immediately.”

Secretary Hegseth responded to reporters by asserting that Goldberg’s claims are unfounded. He remarked, as reported by Fox News Digital, regarding the allegation that senior Trump Administration officials were discussing military strategies in the chat, “As I mentioned yesterday, no one is texting war plans, and that is all I will say on the matter.” He further added, “I am fully aware of my actions, precisely what we are directing, and I take great pride in our achievements, including the successful operations that night and in the future.”

Regardless of the actual circumstances, Jeffries has continued his criticisms. In one tweet, he noted, “The CIA Director testified today that he is uncertain whether a reporter was part of the unclassified national security group chat that irresponsibly revealed military strategies in Yemen. The entire world knows who was involved in Signalgate. These individuals cannot be trusted with the national security of America.”

In another tweet, he pledged to summon officials before Congress, stating, “The arrogance and incompetence of the Trump administration is astonishing. Democrats will interrogate several national security officials under oath this week. We will reveal the damage they have inflicted on the American populace.” He also discussed the issue on MSNBC.
